The Deputy Senate President of the 10th Senate, Senator Barau Jibrin, has praised the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Kabo, Kano State, for its efforts in advancing education and promoting academic excellence in Nigeria. This commendation came during a meeting with the Council members, led by their Chairperson, Chief (Mrs.) Titilayo Laoye-Tomori, at the National Assembly in Abuja on Monday.

Senator Barau, who represents the Kano North Senatorial District, expressed his satisfaction with the institution's progress, particularly the accreditation of 13 additional courses by the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE). He emphasized his commitment to supporting the institution’s development and highlighted the importance of education as the cornerstone of meaningful national progress.

“Today, I had the pleasure of meeting with the Governing Council of the Federal Polytechnic Kabo, led by Chief (Mrs.) Titilayo Laoye-Tomori. Our discussions were productive, centering on the institution's growth and the impressive accreditation of 13 new courses by the NBTE,” Senator Barau stated.

He further commended the Council’s dedication, urging them to maintain the momentum in transforming the polytechnic into a world-class institution. “It is our collective responsibility to support initiatives that contribute to the nation's growth and prosperity. Education remains the foundation of meaningful development,” he added.

Chief (Mrs.) Laoye-Tomori, who also served as the former Deputy Governor of Osun State, expressed gratitude for Senator Barau’s ongoing support and his instrumental role in the polytechnic’s establishment. She reaffirmed the Council's vision to position Federal Polytechnic Kabo as a leading institution in polytechnic education in Nigeria.

The meeting highlighted the strong collaboration between the institution's governing council and key government officials, underlining their shared commitment to enhancing the quality of polytechnic education in Nigeria.
