The Osun State Government has announced that Dr. Folorunso Alakija remains UNIOSUN's Chancellor.
This information was contained in a statement endorsed by the spokesperson to the Osun State Governor, Olawale Rasheed and obtained by Lagos Local News on Sunday.
There have been fears that Alakija who was reappointed Chancellor by the previous organization of Adegboyega Oyetola in 2021 has been feeling quite a bit better of her arrangement by Lead representative Ademola Adeleke.
The UNIOSUN Governing Council had been dismissed by Adeleke last week.
As indicated by the statement, "The Public authority of Osun State has explained that Dr Folorunso Alakija stays the Chancellor of Osun State College after the disintegration of the Overseeing Chamber of the College.
"The State Government thought that the disintegration of the Overseeing Committee doesn't influence the place of Dr Alakija who is contributing tremendously to the development and improvement of the College.
"The place of the Chancellor isn't important for the Administering Committee thus the disintegration of the Chamber doesn't have anything to do with the Chancellor.
"The Government also deeply appreciates Dr. Alakija's ongoing, multiple support for the University's infrastructure growth."
In addition, Osun State acknowledged the university's valued selfless, humanitarian, physical, and academic growth during her tenure as Chancellor.
