TotalEnergies Targets 100 Startups, Each to Receive N8 Million

TotalEnergies Nigeria has introduced the 2024 edition of its Startuppers challenge, where every winner will receive N8 million to aid their business in Nigeria and the African continent.

On Thursday, the challenge was virtually launched at an event where the Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Nigeria Plc, Dr Samba Seye, and other executives of the energy company were present. It was disclosed during the launch that the 2024 edition of the challenge would mark the 100th anniversary of the multinational.

A statement released by the company indicated that 100 businesses spanning 32 African countries will be recognized as a “Startupper of the Year by TotalEnergies” and will be granted a monetary award of N8 million, personalized support, and a communication campaign to increase visibility for their projects.

"This 4th edition aims to support and encourage young African entrepreneurs to innovate and bring their projects to reality in their country of application,”

Mrs Adesua Adewole, the General Manager, Country Services at TotalEnergies, revealed the format for this year's competition, stating that registration for the challenge will commence on May 13th and end on June 18th, 2024.

It was mentioned that 100 startups would be selected initially, followed by the selection of 15 finalists.
