The NECA’s Network of Entrepreneurial Women (NNEW) has unveiled a new training program called Women in Digital Business, aimed at empowering 800 women entrepreneurs through enhanced digital literacy and innovative business practices.
This initiative, supported by the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organisation (ITC-ILO) and Microsoft Philanthropies is a pivotal move towards promoting economic growth and sustainability for women-led businesses.
Launched in July, the program targets women entrepreneurs who have at least six months of business experience and are looking to improve their digital skills for business expansion.
Participants are required to be proficient in English and dedicate a minimum of 25 hours over five weeks to complete the training.
The training will cover various digital business solutions tailored to enhance the effectiveness of participants' enterprises, alongside insights into the digital transformation of their business processes.
NNEW President, Mrs. Adefunke Kuyoro, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership with ITC-ILO and Microsoft Philanthropies, stating, “By equipping women with essential digital skills and innovative business strategies, we aim to bridge the digital divide and create opportunities for women entrepreneurs in today's digital economy.”
Mrs. Bukky Femi-Ajala, the Programme Director, elaborated that the Women in Digital Business program consists of ten online training sessions and self-paced learning modules accessible via a dedicated portal.
Participants will acquire valuable insights and practical skills to improve their business operations and drive growth in the digital landscape. She emphasized that the program is designed to provide foundational skills and insights necessary for digital entrepreneurship.
