The Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) has announced that the upcoming 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair (LITF) will welcome all visitors free of charge.
This is projected to attract an ambitious target of one million attendees over the ten-day event, scheduled to take place from November 1 to November 10 at Tafawa Balewa Square in Lagos.
In a media briefing held in Lagos, Abimbola Olashore, Vice President and Chairman of the Trade Promotion Board at LCCI, revealed that the event is expected to feature an increase in exhibitors, surpassing the annual average of 3,500 by approximately 50 percent.
Olashore was represented by Akinbo Akin-Olugbade, a member of the Trade Promotion Board.
To ensure safety during the fair, LCCI plans to implement advanced security measures for both private and public spaces.
Olashore noted that while the fair typically attracts around 350,000 visitors and features participation from about 15 countries, this year’s goal reflects a notable increase in interest from exhibitors.
He expressed gratitude towards United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc for its ongoing support as the official financial partner for the sixth consecutive year. UBA’s Head of SME Banking, Babatunde Ajayi, emphasized the bank's commitment to supporting African businesses through a substantial $6 billion loan facility aimed at SME development.
Ajayi highlighted that UBA's partnership with LCCI has been successful due to aligned missions focused on enhancing market access and transaction capabilities for customers.
Ajayi further mentioned that UBA's support will extend beyond traditional banking services to offer direct engagement opportunities and advanced digital banking solutions to facilitate efficient transactions for exhibitors during the fair.
