The Federal Government has awarded N100 million grants to 200 Nigerian youths selected from across the country to boost their potential for economic development.
The grants were disbursed by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship Education, Abiola Arogundade, at an "Unlock Training" programme in Abuja.
A total of 120 freshers and 80 existing entrepreneurs received the grants, which were awarded based on the outcome of a six-week campaign initiated by the presidency. The campaign required youths to record and submit a minute video on their current skills, future plans, and how they hope the government can assist them achieve their goals.
Aside from the grants, the participants were also offered Certificate of Completion and trained on the components of a good business plan and money management. The entrepreneurs were also given honorary awards for their outstanding performance in their Technical, Vocational and Entrepreneurship skills.
The President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, was represented by Arogundade, who assured the youths that the government is committed to promoting technical and entrepreneurship education across the country.
