IPMAN had arranged a meeting with the Dangote refinery management to discuss the supply of products to independent marketers.

Confirming the meeting, IPMAN President Abubakar Maigandi mentioned on Friday evening that the association had successfully met with the refinery's management. He further noted that the refinery had agreed to supply products to over 30,000 IPMAN members.

Meanwhile, it has been reported that the regulatory body overseeing the downstream oil sector is currently evaluating the refined products from the Dangote refinery. Approval for dispensing fuel to the market is pending this examination.

Earlier reports on Monday indicated that seven major oil marketers in Nigeria had registered with the refinery for the lifting and distribution of refined petroleum products from the $20 billion plant.

Major Oil Marketers Association of Nigeria members, including 11 Plc, Conoil Plc, Ardova Plc, MRS Oil Nigeria Plc, OVH Energy Marketing Limited, Total Nigeria Plc, and NNPC Retail, confirmed their registration. They expressed readiness to commence distribution once commercial terms were finalized.

Similarly, the Petroleum Products Retail Outlets Owners Association of Nigeria (PETROAN) stated that it was in discussions with the Dangote refinery for the supply of products from the facility.

On January 12, 2024, the Dangote Petroleum Refinery announced the commencement of production for Automotive Gas Oil (diesel) and JetA1 (aviation fuel).

Addressing the outcome of the meeting between IPMAN and the Dangote refinery, IPMAN's president affirmed during a conversation with our correspondent on Friday that the refinery's management would supply products to IPMAN's 150,000 stations nationwide.

“The meeting went well, so right now we are just expecting their reply in terms of products that they are going to give us. They have agreed to dispense products to IPMAN members,” Maigandi stated.
