Adeleke Says His Policies Will Stimulate Growth of Osun

Boluwatife Adedokun

The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, stated on Tuesday that his administration is prepared to implement the necessary policies to encourage growth and development in the state.

This was mentioned by the governor when he received the Methodist Church of Nigeria leadership in Osogbo, the state capital, for the annual prayer session that the Church always holds for the state government.

He stated that his administration would never be unable to fulfill its commitment to moving the state forward in spite of the difficulties it had inherited.

The governor reiterated his commitment to lead the state out of the quagmire that its previous deficiencies had brought it to and emphasized that his administration will focus on programs that will directly impact citizens' lives.

“Our 100 days programmes have already begun and in no time, it will manifest for everyone to see. Osun state will move forward,” he said.

According to Governor Adeleke, God made it possible for him to become governor of Osun State despite the persistent efforts of certain forces, attesting to the effectiveness of prayer in achieving goals.

He warned that the state's citizens should band together to work toward that according to him “Some people want to use religion to divide us. In my own administration, that will not be tolerated.”

“Because, when I look at my story, God has been so faithful to me. My own story is different, I always defeat an incumbent. I have to thank God for what he has done for us in Osun because we prayed and won. We won in 2018 too but were cheated yet we didn’t give up,” he said.

“The crowd I saw on the day I returned from the US after studying, I knew God was ready for us. So, we changed our prayer in 2022 that if we win, every evil people that want to stop us, God should clear them away. So, be specific in what you pray for, because God listens.”

The Methodist Church of Nigeria's Archbishop of Ilesha, Most Reverend Amos Akintola Akindeko, praised the Governor earlier for his unwavering faith in God Almighty, which he claimed helped him attain office.

Other men of God were led to pray for the administration's success by the clergy, who went back in time to discuss the annual prayer session held by the Church and its various testimonies.

“God will surprise your government. He will make your enemies to prostrate before you. I know the allocations coming to Osun is minimal, but God will support your administration to deliver good governance for the people,” the clergyman prayed.
