Seven Soldiers Killed As Bandits Attack Zamfara Community

The bandits were said to have attacked the Kangon Garacce community under the Dangulbi district of the Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara on Monday afternoon, killing several residents.

According to reports, bandits ambushed the Kangon Garacce community in Zamfara State and killed seven soldiers as well as several locals.

Several Indigenes were also killed in the attack that took place on Monday afternoon in the Kangon Garacce community in the Maru Local Government Area's Dangulbi district.

According to Lawal Dangulbi, a resident of the Dangulbi community, the military was attacked by the bandits as they were responding to a distress call on the attack on the community.

To prevent the military from supporting the locals, Dangulbi claimed that the bandits split up into different groups, some of which launched direct attacks on the community.

Seven soldiers were killed in the ambush, he continued, adding that at least 20 civilians were also murdered in the attack.

“The bandits divided themselves, some were attacking the community while some were stationed outside the community to prevent the military from assisting the villagers, they ambushed the troops and killed seven of them,” Dangulbi said.
