The Federal Government has guaranteed that there won't be a delay in paying civil servant's salary for July 2023.

During a Tuesday interactive session with journalists in Abuja, the Accountant General of the Federation, Oluwatoyin Madein, gave this assurance.

Recall that the salary for May and June 2023 were paid late.

Madein pointed out that a few challenges beyond the Office of the Accountant General of the Federation's authority were to blame for the delay in the May and June 2023 wages.

She did, however, point out that policies had been put in place to guarantee that salaries were paid promptly.

She said, “For May and June, we encountered some difficulties beyond our control but I can assure you that everything has been put in place to ensure that July 2023 salaries are not delayed and will be paid any moment from now.”

The head of civil service of the federation, Folashade Yemi-Esan, also gave the assurance that soon, workers would smile.

Yemi-Esan made the remark in response to inquiries on palliatives to lessen the impact of the removal of fuel subsidies on civil servants.
