Fire broke out at Focus Holiday Inn, a well-known hotel located in the Garki area of Abuja, Nigeria's capital, early on January 15, 2025.

The incident reportedly began around 3 a.m., with a hotel staff member confirming that the alarm was first raised by a guest who rushed to the reception unclad to alert the staff about the blaze.

The fire originated in one section of the three-storey building and quickly spread, creating panic among both guests and employees. Despite multiple distress calls made to the fire service, there were delays in their response. However, fire crews eventually arrived on the scene and began efforts to control the flames.

As at the time of filing this report, no casualties have been reported, and the cause of the fire remains under investigation.

Focus Holiday Inn, which opened its doors in 2022, prides itself as an upscale and luxurious home away from home in Abuja.

Efforts to gather further information from hotel representatives, fire service officials, and police have been unsuccessful at this time.
