A 33-year-old woman, Ifeoma Ossai, has been arrested for allegedly killing her 50-year-old landlord, Monday Surulere Oladele, over a minor disagreement.
The culprit was apprehended as a result of a report made by one Olaleye Taiwo to the Sango Ota divisional headquarters.
According to Taiwo's allegation to the police, after a confrontation between his brother, Oladele, and one of his tenants over an electricity bill, the tenant in question grabbed Oladele by the manhood and dragged him along.
He claimed that the landlord collapsed and was taken to General Hospital, Ota, where he passed away.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the police spokesman, stated on that after receiving the information, Saleh Dahiru, the DPO for the Ota division, led his detectives to the site, where the suspect was quickly apprehended and brought into jail for further investigation.
“On interrogation, the suspect claimed that the deceased asked her to pay for the electricity bill, but she insisted that until water is directly connected to her apartment as promised by the landlord before she packed in she will not pay the electricity or any other utility bill.
“This led to a scuffle between them upon which the suspect grabbed the manhood of the deceased and dragged him with it.
“The deceased subsequently slumped, and he was rushed to the hospital but was pronounced dead by the doctor on duty,” Oyeyemi said.
According to him, the body had been brought to the hospital mortuary for a postmortem.
According to Oyeyemi's report, Police Commissioner Frank Mba ordered the suspect's immediate transfer to the State Criminal Investigation Department's Murder branch for additional inquiry and assiduous prosecution.
