In a strong statement on Tuesday, Nigeria's Chief of Army Staff, General Taoreed Lagbaja, reassured the nation of the military's unwavering commitment to upholding democratic principles.

Addressing concerns amid growing calls from some Northern youths for military intervention, General Lagbaja emphasized that the Nigerian Army remains steadfast in its support of the civilian government led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

General Lagbaja condemned any attempts to destabilize the country, warning that the Army will not stand by idly as Nigeria faces threats to its democracy. He affirmed that the military is dedicated to defending the country's democratic institutions and will resist any efforts to undermine them.
